A surprise...well, not really

It's hard to watch TV today without some commercial preaching about buying local food because it's allegedly better for the environment. Even some multinational trying to sell me mayonnaise recently urged us to buy local -- which apparently means stuff made all over Canada before combined into the white goodness.

Well, turns out the environmental benefits may be yet another pipe dream sold to us by the greens. A University of Toronto professor says enjoy local produce all you want but it's not likely doing much for the environment.
