THE REPORT, RIP: (via Relapsed Catholic) Canada's only conservative magazine, The Report, officially was put to rest today by Link Byfield.
Kathy over at Relapsed Catholic has the press release here and some commentary.
I had one piece published in the magazine so I am proud to say I was a distant (very distant) member of the family. I hope everyone associated with the magazine regains their footing quickly.

It's really too bad to see The Report fold, especially at the same time that the National Post appears to be imploding. As an American conservative who has watched from afar, I must concede however that both trends have been apparent for some time.
Best wishes to the many talented people who made up The Report - both those who lost their jobs with today's announcement and those who have departed prior to that. My guess is that they will all end up just fine. Indeed, Steve Sailer is already on record predicting that former Report senior editor Colby Cosh will be the next Mark Steyn.

Hey, I'm already on record saying I'll be the next Mark Steyn!

Hey, I thought your claim to fame was being Ayn Rand and William F. Buckley, Jr.'s love-child - what more could you want? :-)

With the Report and (effectively) The Post gone, that leaves... ESR. You might be able to leverage that.

Well, that's a thought, there's no doubt about that. Better to rule in hell...err...Canada, then to serve in heaven...errr, the American market.
