BUT THE FRENCH SAID THEY NEVER SOLD IRAQ WEAPONS: According to U.K.'s The Sun, the rockets fired at the Al Rashid hotel this weekend where Paul Wolfowitz was staying, were made in France -- half of which were produced after the weapons embargo. Read on.

On the rocket attack on the hotel.
Easy to set up (even Rube Goldberg style). Just need access to rockets and some sort of launcher/tube arrangement, and a hollow fake vehicle. Many didn't launch. Reference to previous "French Weapons" in Iraq are false - as was grudgingly admitted later (in the French 'missile' hoax). Late run manufactured French unguided rockets, are easily laundered through 3rd countries. You guys are really off base on this post. Unless you're trying to lose this libertarian subscriber. Let me be spacific - if a 'Stinger' brought down some aircraft in Iraq or Afghanistan - are you going to charge the USA with selling/supplying them to the Baath regime recently??? Purposely???

Point taken but there's enough smoke to suggest that French, German and Russian companies actively dealt with the Ba'athist regime between 1991 and 2003 and while those governments may have officially not dealt with Hussein's regime it's hard to believe they were completely in the dark.
