NIXON'S THE ONE: I've heard some conservatives liken our options in the 2004 race to that of the 1972 election, with George W. Bush reprising the role of Richard M. Nixon. Jeremy Lott, over at Brainwash, however, takes the position that John Kerry is Nixon.

While I think the big-goverment Republican is the marginally better choice in this race just like it was 32 years ago, both comparisons in my opinion are rather unkind to Nixon.

Unkind to Nixon? You'll have to explain that one.

Well, I'd take Nixon's foreign policy over John Kerry's any day.

As for Nixon versus Bush, let's just say that after a strong first year I for a variety of reasons haven't been all that impressed with the old chap. I know it's a minority view here, maybe the wisdom of his policies will seem clearer to me in term II! :-)

MoveOnPlease.Org is reporting that the Gallup poll is purposely pushing Bush ahead in the polls with a Christian Conservative bias. I am embarrassed for the Democratic Party and anyone who considers them self a liberal, when I read such hate filled misinformation such as this.

Trust me Jim, after the first year I've been plenty displeased with the Bush administration as well. I still don't know whether I'd take Nixon over Bush though, ha ha.

It's also worth noting that the George Galllup they are presumably referring to has been dead for twenty years.
