AT LEAST SOMEONE IS CONFIDENT: Jay Reding is sure that George W. Bush will win on November 2. The problem with his methodology, however, is that he's looking at polling numbers. Remember, the Electoral College elects the president.

I were advising President Bush, I would tell him to focus more on the key battleground of Ohio than such reach states as PA, Michigan and New Jersey. If Bush holds onto Ohio and Florida, he is in a strong position. He then wouldn't have to cut deeply at all into the states Al Gore won in 2000, and could even afford to just win all the other states he carried four years ago minus one small defector (West Virginia or New Hampshire).
If Bush loses Ohio, I doubt he will be reelected. He would have to pretty much sweep the small to medium sized swing states or pick up a really large competitive state like Michigan or PA, both of which are tougher for him to win than the Buckeye State.

There seems to be a missing "if" in my post!
