What leaped to my heart By Michael Moriarty When Jewish World Review invited me to contribute to their blog, I felt the 35 years I had lived in New York City leap to my heart and soul. I left the sacred halls of learning in Hanover, N.H., a Dartmouth graduate, as a sort of "bonus baby of the theatre." No, the salaries in the New York Shakespeare Festival weren't commensurate to those of American League Baseball. However, I was given the main supporting role, right out of college, a major "back-up" to the late great George C. Scott and his wife Colleen Dewhurst in a production of the Bard's Antony and Cleopatra. I played the role of Octavius Caesar. That Scott proved unavailable because of filming did not lessen the honor in my eyes. In addition to being hired by Joseph Papp, that extraordinary producer of the Shakespeare Festival, I was enlisted, with Papp's strong influence on this scholarship committee, in the 1963-64 year of Fulbright Scholars to England. That Papp, after I'd been awarded the year abroad, advised me not to take the scholarship but stay in New York where I wouldn't be picking up bad, English-speaking theatre habits, was a bit of advice I often ponder. There's a case to be made for such a decision. Since I didn't take his advice, my life turned in a bizarrely different direction. I arrived in New York, in the spring of 1963, a Jesuitically fervent Ivy League graduate of the infamous "Animal House," Dartmouth College, the most remarkable graduate of which was Daniel Webster. What credits he'd gained with his famous Webster's Dictionary were lost by his disgraceful display of racist, pro-slavery evil during the Civil War. Other than Webster, no Dartmouth graduate has even scratched the surface of the mountain of giants from, say, Harvard and Yale. At age 6, I vowed to live in New York when I heard the music from LPs with Manhattan skylines on their covers. "I want to go there!," I said to myself as a boy, pointing at the most famous, year-round Christmas tree of lights in the world: Manhattan's skyline on 78 RPM albums of Art Tatum and George Gershwin. My fellow jazz quintet member, Igor Butman of Leningrad, said much the same thing in a Soviet movie theatre when he viewed the opening shot of West Side Story. "I VANT TO GO DERE!" Like in that great movie Moscow on the Hudson. And there he finally went, via Berkeley School of Music in Massachusetts. He is now back in Moscow, holding court as their best jazz saxophonist ever. Subsequent Soviet émigrés flooded my life in New York. All my music, classical and jazz, has at one time or another depended upon Soviet émigré musicians. My Symphony for String Orchestra, played in New York, St. Louis, Toronto and Calgary, is dedicated to "the courage of Soviet émigrés." I'm not sure I'll submit anything to www.jewishworldreview.com, despite the invitation. I've submitted, uninvited of course, numerous articles to The Jerusalem Post and been rejected every time. Rejection is my middle name as an actor, but not as a writer or as a composer. I suspect in a nation virtually owned by Israeli Socialism, nothing I have to say would be welcome. I would however welcome comments on that from the staff of the Jewish World Review. Here are my positions on the two most important issues involving Israel and the entire Jewish Diaspora: Christ versus Karl Marx and America as the new and beleaguered Chosen People. The greatest intellectual enemy of Christ was Karl Marx and the greatest enemy of Israel and America is Islam. As readers of my fan blog (www.mmuuuhp.com) understand, my position on Islam is that it is the most racially supremacist, sadistically patriarchal, homicidal religion in human history. The Quran is an older version of Mein Kampf. The Gods Thor and Allah are almost synonymous if it weren't for the obviously differing favoritisms regarding race. No other approach to Osama, Al Qaeda and the likes of the late unlamented Al Zarqawi, will help anyone's survival, let alone that of Israel. After 9/11, Islam is no more to me than an Inquisition. As for Christ versus Karl Marx? We have two sons of Israel, Christ and Marx – one rejected and one made a virtual Messiah by Israeli Socialists. I liken that to Adam and Eve falling in love with Cain after he'd just slain Abel. That Marx was eventually picked up by Progressive Liberals as a tool with which to bludgeon Judeo-Christianity is only to be expected. That these same Liberals now openly back their loathing of all things traditional to Western Civilization by encouraging the cultural destruction of Europe and America through Islamization, is to our advantage. But I say: "There will be no Eurabia. There will be no Amerabia." One consistent thing about the Devil is his impatience. The increasing tempo of the Progressive Liberal's progress will explode between 2008 and 2012. It is then that all of my predictions for this awful period will come true and, God willing, as Churchill and his prophecies were belatedly recognized in 1939 England, by necessity and not preference. Even British Socialist Labour knew Churchill was the man of the hour. My clarity of vision will make me President of the United States in 2012. Israel is now in a similar position to England in 1940 – humanity's best hope now under the duel siege of Islamic terrorism and Eugenics' headlong rush forward. Today, the God of Science exploits abortion, euthanasia and the Islamic death toll to create the NEW SUPERHUMAN RACE. New York is the New Jerusalem and The New York Times has become America's Al-Quds. I don't think www.jewishworldreview.com will want my opinion anymore than The Jerusalem Post does. With that in mind, I'll post this on my usual venues. May G-d have mercy on us all!
