With Churchillian defiance

web posted May 15, 2006

Memoirs of the Second World WarOn the cover of Memoirs of the Second World War, Sir Winston Churchill sits, cane in his right hand like the chastising "rod" it had become, left hand in his jacket pocket and pressed snugly to his considerable waist, his left thumb in our sight, its adjoining fingers hidden, glasses peeking out of his vest pocket, a white, silk handkerchief pouting from his breast pocket, a tightly concentrated bowtie at his neck, and rising from this, the famous gorge, the one that must have risen so often during his leadership, his chin tilted down, his lower lip in the familiar pout, corners of his mouth also tilted down, the pugnacious nose leading us upward to his eyes, his left eye in half shadow, his right exploding with an undying defiance of evil.

Peer into that eye. Yes, get your courage up. Look into it without blinking. Now think where you might stand in his judgment. No one knew the certainty of the infinite or lived in service of the Almighty with more courage and comprehension than Churchill!

The voice, with its rolling cadences, was an ocean unto itself. His words were the greatest, clearest and most powerful denizens of the deep. If there were a two-legged Moby Dick, the Great White Whale of indefatigable power and mystery, it was Churchill.

His eye could encompass a map of the Earth with an utter apprehension of coming upheavals. Within him lay the mountainous calling of God's vengeance. His eyes had seen the glory of the coming of the Lord and God's defiance of Adolf Hitler's dream of a Super German Race.

With Churchill's example in mind, President Ronald Reagan tore down the Berlin Wall. May the Great Knight's memory be revived again to slash through the horrid tyranny now engulfing Red China. Can the Maoist Population Control Policy be torn down like the walls of Jericho? Can today's scientists lift their eyes out of the virtual Thanatos (love of death) and murder by abortion as the best solution to the challenges of life? Can they raise their visions to the universe God bestowed upon us as our eternal playground?

Man's evolution is not, as the New World Order would have it, directed at becoming a Superhuman Race, in the same way Hitler dreamed of his German Ubermenschen und Uberfrauen, but conceived as a blossoming, a pouring out of the fires that brought us the air we breathe and provides the light we've lifted our faces to, a billion-footed ocean of light in its finest form – love. It is that love which our Almighty desires us to fill the universe with.

"Aim high!" is the motto of the Cranbrook Preparatory School in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., where in its two lower forms, I prepared for my fours years with the Society of Jesus and its University of Detroit High School. You cannot aim any higher than Christ, and you cannot know the face of St. John's Revelation from any point of view but Christ's and the defiant eye of Churchill, our Lord's avenging angel of the 20th century.

With the finest form of light as my guide, the cancerous state of Mankind in the Third Millennium as my diagnosis, and the defiant eye, heart, mind and soul of Churchill as my prescription for the disease, the virtual leukemia in which the Free World is drowning itself, I direct my journey toward the White House and the Presidency of the United States.

In 1994, I proclaimed that goal on CNBC. Then I was a mere George Bailey of It's A Wonderful Life or a Mr. Smith headed to Washington. Now, with Sir Winston in my eye, heart, mind and soul, I walk, yea, and rest proudly on the shoulders of a giant.

Following my preordained loss in the 2008 Presidential election, I will be literally swept into office in November 2012 at the age of 71. For those who don't believe me, simply peer a little longer into the defiant eye of the British Empire's Last Lion! God willing, I may prove to be North America's first two-legged Moby Dick; and may the Ahabs of the Postmodern Third Millennium try and chase me away!
