Tucker Carlson and his moments of style over content By Michael Moriarty I applaud Tucker Carlson defending the right to bear arms. I’m a Donald Trump Conservative! And, for the most part, I’m a big fan of Tucker Carlson!! However, telling a Democrat, anti-gun politician running for office that an AR-15 cannot fire off 150 rounds in 15 seconds?! And doing it with the repeatedly bottomless contempt and jeering laughter that Tucker Carlson can heap upon many of his guests?! One is tempted to look up easily obtainable information on varying rates of rapid gunfire. Mr. Carlson’s research staff either didn’t serve the cleverly eloquent television talk-show host well enough, or he just refused to ignore some easily available information. An AR-15 with a bumper stock and a 150 round, double drum cartridge with 100 rounds in it?! This video will show you a young man firing off 100 bullets with an AR-15 automatic! IN NINE SECONDS! 50 more rounds would have taken roughly 4 and ½ more seconds. This video shows how long it takes before the heat from a rapid-firing AR-15 makes the weapon catch fire. Within 2 minutes of single cartridge loading, the weapon begins to catch fire. Till then, you have front-line, war-time firepower! I enjoy Tucker Carlson immensely, share his Conservatism and know how hard his job really is. The pressure of holding high ratings is nothing I’ve ever wanted to undergo for any great length of time.
My longest experience with television, Law & Order and that program’s ratings, because it was a drama, weren’t, for myself as only one of the many essential members of a production company, much of my responsibility. For a show with a single host and guests?! The buck stops with him! For myself, that would have turned quickly into an unsustainable pressure cooker. I admire Tucker Carlson’s fortitude and his war on “hypocrisy”! The price, however, of selling a false fact as if everyone knows it to be true?! That is certainly its own form of hypocrisy. I realize the Second Amendment is increasingly under siege, but I don’t think even the most radical member of the National Rifle Association would condone a lie about the formidable firepower within an AR-15 automatic with a bumper stock and a 150 round, double drum cartridge. Basically, calling one of your guests a liar for telling the truth about AR-15’s?!
