The day afterBy Dubious Wisdom Has anyone done a wellness check on Oprah, the Obamas, and George Clooney? Was a decision made in the wee hours of the morning to hide the keys to the liquor cabinet from both Hillary and Kamala? Will Joe Biden manage to escape his handlers, sneak in front of a camera, and begin screaming about how HE would have taken Trump behind the gym and beaten him like a drum? Do you think The Donald received congratulatory calls from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Shumer? Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar melted into a green goo, much like the wicked witches they are, on live TV? This is all too funny, and in the most miraculous comeback of all time, Donald J Trump made the odious denizens of the mainstream media – not to mention a host of ignorant, elitist celebrities - look like the liars and fools that they are. On MSNBC, the weeping, talking-heads were screaming about the unfairness of the electoral college . . . seemingly unaware the Trump also won the popular vote. The New York Times, less than gracious in defeat, wrote the following:
Talk about denial. The primping Marxists of the fake news do not get it . . . and they never will. Donald Trump, with the help of millions of Americans, did the impossible. He beat the cheat! More than that, he has a full-fledged mandate from the American people. Construction on the border wall will start about five minutes after he takes office on January 20th. Trans madness and the teaching of critical race theory will be out of the schools the minute after that. Regulations will fall. Hundreds (maybe thousands) of swamp dwellers will be fired, their security clearances cancelled. Taxes will plummet, wages will rise, crimes will be prosecuted, and civil rights will be revered. The Bill of Rights - especially the First and Second Amendments - are safe for at least four more years. Communism is out. Freedom is in. We could be on the brink of a prosperity we never imagined possible. Make no mistake we live in a nation that is now more divided than ever. The leftists are going to scream and riot. The media will continue to spin lies and attempt to throw sand into the gears. But, contrary to what supplicants of the nanny state espouse, the American schism does not arise from racial grievance or bigotry or a desire for authoritarianism. Hardly. As much as anything, the split is a conflict of philosophy between urban and rural, a simmering antagonism between those who wish to care for themselves and those who seek cradle to grave oversight. It is a war between reality and fantasy, between dreams and nightmares. It is a win for the normal, and a resounding loss for the woke. The leftists are speechless. Thy just got thumped by the hicks and rubes who live in flyover country. Those who they view as "garbage" rose up in a red tsunami and told them to go to hell. The left is seething that black and hispanics did not vote as they were told. What they don't realize is that this was an election based on class . . . the working people - no matter their color - versus those who mistakenly consider themselves superior. Now that's unity Together . . . we just kicked "our betters" in the teeth. The first thing Trump should do, right after his inauguration is to offer the left an olive branch. I would love to hear him say the following:
They would lose their minds. And it would be beautiful. Sometimes the good guys win. Sometimes the light defeats the dark. This is one of those times. Lets enjoy it . . . and never take it for granted. Dubious Wisdom loves to write about guns and fishing but will spare a moment for politics. You can find more at Dubious Wisdom.
