Progressive "moral ambiguity" II: The coming Obama nation

By Michael Moriarty

Progressive moral ambiguity" will necessarily facilitate "progress" -- or rather the Progressive Movement's idea of "progress" -- no matter what the cost to life or liberty. Just keep an eye on CAP, the Center for American Progress, an "Action Tank".

"We're not for thinking … we're for action" was a recent and most descriptive admission by an ardently candid operative of CAP.

CAP was initially funded by that greatest and richest of Obama Angels, George Soros. This non-profit action committee sounds basically like a George Soros version of ACORN, that rather overly intense "get-out-the-vote" enforcement arm of The Obama Nation.

Ironically, Obama, despite his increasing resources, is still playing hurry-and-catch-up with Bill Clinton, whose Global Initiative is now receiving not millions but billions of dollars in donations from not just millionaires, but from whole nations and governments themselves.

The Clinton Global Initiative is a much more hands-on operation for Clinton than, say, the federal government will be for President Obama. The "Initiative's" connections with foreign governments, of course, could present a "conflict of interest" when it comes to Hillary Clinton's eligibility for the Secretary of State position.

However, and as I will continue to point out, with the growing success of "moral ambiguity" as the most increasingly fashionable ethical perspective -- there should be no problem for the President of the United States to get around such minor obstacles.  If President Clinton can o‘rleap Lewinksy, President Obama can certainly dribble his way around moral combat with the Catholic Church.

Moral ambiguity, you see … or the Clinton defense lawyer's refrain of "judge not lest ye be judged!" Works almost every time.

If President Bill can sell to Protestants that "God has nothing against abortion" then President Barack can easily convince the rest of Christianity that "spreading the wealth around by punitively taxing the successful" is almost a Christian obligation.  It's as if President Clinton had been doing all the major groundwork of "preparing the way", rather like John The Baptist, setting the stage of "moral ambiguity" for "That One", that miraculously sudden, Larger-Than-Life Lawyer For The Left, Barack "Steve" Obama.

It was inevitable, since the Christian Right had already staked its indelible claims on --Christ  it was almost predictable that the Left would eventually come up with its own version of The Messiah. Some thought that Messiah had been "the first black President", Bill Clinton, but most of the world is now being sold on Barack Obama as the Second Coming.

Obamism is a difficult, new religious faith to criticize when the church publicists behind it are actually the entire Mainstream Media, now known by some disgruntled Republicans as the O-Network.

I simply call it, CNN --the Community News Network.

"Oh, ye of little faith … and let he who is without sin cast the first stone!"

Yes, "Bill" set the scene.

While quoting scripture, before and after lying on camera about "not having sex with that woman!" … "the most influential man in the world", as Clinton has been described, wrestled even Catholics like Biden and Pelosi into believing that Christ's forgiveness actually releases an aborting mother from any guilt because, well, can't everyone see increasingly the "moral ambiguity" in almost everything?

Of course, Pope Benedict XVI doesn't seem to agree with these Progressive Catholics … but is the Pope aware of how Progressive his College of Cardinals is becoming … and already has become?

Dan's Brown's Da Vinci Code has now become a Progressive Primer within increasingly … uh … neo-Catholic circles. Shakespeare called such yarn-spinning "wormwood" while Hollywood sells it as "one helluva great story idea!"

Oh, well not to worry. If the Bible is right, its Book of Revelations particularly, then this Progressive Challenge to Judeo-Christianity will end in an Armageddon of sorts … a World War III … and there won't be many of us left to worry about anything.

I know that's not a very comforting thought but, then again, see how helpful such a war would be for the Population Problem, the one that created the Global Warming Problem because of, you know, the obvious Carbon Problem, otherwise known as mankind perhaps we should create an immediate solution that would just force us to start all over again, with fewer people creating fewer problems!

I actually think that the Progressive Vision actually began with the remarkably generous notion that there is really nothing more sacred about human life than any other form of life. You know, the Progressive rules about "endangered species" and laws about not shooting wolves for simply wanting to eat your lambs all in the name of Progress, in the spirit of accepting ourselves, and all of humanity as the worst thing that ever happened to the Earth -- let alone the Universe.

No wonder things are becoming so "morally ambiguous". It is only human beings that create these possibly unnecessary moral considerations, isn't it? So, next time around, we won't be handing out any Ten Commandments or Golden Rule, will we?

All will be so "morally ambiguous" … and, well, fair, you know?!

Fair to all of life! Not just to these stupid human beings!

Fair … in, of course, a Progressive sort of way. ESR
