Harris's audacity of deception strategy 2.0

By Mark Alexander

So, about all those Beltway Republican pundits asserting last week that Kamala Harris "needs another debate" with Donald Trump — this is yet another example of mindless political groupthink that infests the swamp. They all eat and drink slop from the same trough.

According to Harris, after CNN collaborated with her campaign to give her a friendly stage, "I will gladly accept a second presidential debate on October 23."

After the rigged three-on-one "debate" with CNN's ideological twin, ABC, during which "moderators" David Muir and Linsey Davis teamed up with Harris to defeat Trump, the Kamala campaign knew Trump would decline another debate on enemy territory. They calculated the optics would look like Trump was afraid to debate again. To promote that conclusion, they complained that only one presidential debate in an election cycle would be unprecedented.

Of course, this was Trump's second presidential debate, having already slain Joe Biden in another forum hosted by CNN. Biden imploded with the whole nation looking on (who could see that coming?), sending his Leftmedia publicists into a DEFCON 1 panic.

That triggered activation of the Demos' long-planned BIG Swap, with Harris booting Biden to the curb.

That's what was unprecedented — after the completion of a primary with Biden on the top of the ticket, she then stepped in. And to provide Harris cover after the swap, her adoring political and media groupies diverted attention with a week-long celebration comparing Biden's agreement to step aside with George Washington, who declined another presidential term after his first two, refusing to become a dictator. Actually, they're still hawking that comparison. Just today, Sunny Hostin, a cohost of "The View," where Biden made an appearance this morning, asserted, "I truly believe that [Biden's] legacy will be etched in the history books as Washington; as someone who put that ego aside and put his country first."

You can see the comparison, right?

Since then, Harris has only had one national media "interview" with, you guessed it, CNN. But she showed up for those softball pitches with her support lapdog, VP candidate Tim Walz — you know, the stolen valor guy. Yes, she did sit down for a local interview with, you guessed it, an ABC affiliate in Philadelphia, and she crashed and burned.

Let's see — a CNN Trump/Biden debate, a CNN Harris/Walz interview, and now another CNN debate offer. They don't call it the Communist News Network for nothin'.

(Oh, there was that Oprah endorsement masquerading as an "interview" with Harris.)

Moreover, this week, Harris became the first presidential candidate in 40 years to decline to attend the Al Smith Dinner, the 79th year of this high-profile national Catholic fundraising event. The last candidate to decline was Demo Walter Mondale in 1984, just before President Ronald Reagan defeated him in a landslide.

The point is this: Kamala Harris is not looking for another debate stage or any venue where the nation might learn more about her than the prepackaged word salad she delivers at every campaign stop.

One reason Harris is hiding from unscripted events was outlined in a July Axios article titled, "Biden doubted Harris' election chances," which noted: "Harris was the guest for a dinner at D.C. news mogul David Bradley's home — a salon-style event Bradley hosts with Washington journalists and newsmakers. Harris' anxiety about the dinner was such that her staff held a mock dinner beforehand, with staffers playing participants. ... Harris aides even considered including wine in the mock prep so Harris could practice with a glass or two. They ultimately decided against it."

She can't go to a safe-house fundraiser without a full rehearsal?

Another Axios article hinted at the Harris campaign strategy, noting: "The Harris-Walz ticket is on pace to do fewer interviews and press conferences than any major party's presidential pairing in modern U.S. history. [They are] betting she and her running mate ... can avoid many tough interviews and still win as they run down the clock to Election Day."

But the real reason Harris is avoiding unscripted venues — the reason being perilously overlooked by all those expert Beltway Republican strategists?

Michelle Obama almost said it out loud at the Kamalafest Coronation Convention: "Something wonderfully magical is in the air, isn't it? A familiar feeling that's been buried too deep for too long. You know what I'm talking about? It's the contagious power of hope! America, hope is making a comeback."

That was a reference to Barack Obama's mesmerizing "hope and change" rhetoric on which he based his 2008 presidential campaign.

Harris's entire campaign hinges on BO's successful 2008 strategy to obscure who he really was — what I then dubbed "Obama's Audacity of Deception Strategy."

If you are perplexed by the number of Americans who have embraced Harris with a degree of admiration that is associated with personality cults, I refer you to Obama's own lucid explanation for this phenomenon in the opening pages of his political autobiography, The Audacity of Hope. He wrote, "I am new enough on the national political scene that I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views."

Maintaining this "blank screen" is precisely why Harris avoids unscripted events. Instead, she delivers the same rhetorical script, imprinting her dullard wide-eyed sycophants, especially women voters, with an identity facade they fully ingest. The less they know about the REAL Kamala, the more she can remain that "blank screen" upon which they can "project" that identity facade.

Kamala is the "joy" candidate who professes to fix all that is troubling the electorate on her first day in office as if that were not almost four years ago.

Of course, one major difference between Obama and Harris: Obama was, in Joe Biden's assessment, "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy." In other words, Obama had an abundance of charisma. But the real Kamala Harris is vacuous, grossly inarticulate, and clearly lacks any charismatic depth. But what she lacks in charisma, she makes up for in her masterful ability to lie.

Oh, and she is actually not "African-American" either, but we need not rehash that at risk of being labeled "RACIST!!!"

However, the blank-screen strategy is critical for Harris to maintain her image as the "candidate of change."

Of course, Trump is actually the change candidate.

But Trump's considerable and well-documented record of domestic and foreign policy successes is diametrically opposed to the Biden/Harris regime's abysmal record of domestic and foreign policy failures.

Thus, part two of Harris's one-two-punch strategy is to vilify her opponent while hiding her record. She must divert attention from the stark contrast between her failed record by implementing Nancy Pelosi's mainstream media "wrap-up smear" tactic to denigrate Trump.

Harris is picking up where Biden left off, casting Trump as a "threat to democracy," when, indisputably, the most perilous domestic threat to Liberty in modern history is actually the Harris/Walz ticket — and the Demo cadres of deep state socialists they will install into all levels of government.

Will her one-two punch work? Not if Trump stays focused on contrasting their respective records every day between now and November 5th.

Finally, that folksy socialist Tim Walz declared last week, "We can't afford four more years of this."

Indeed, we can't. ESR
